We Don’t Have a Lobby
If you book your stay online, your reservation support happens online.
That isn’t just our preference. It’s a critical part of how we protect our guests, our neighbors, and our team.
Recently, while one of our team members was finishing maintenance work outside one of our Edgewater properties, two arriving guests approached him regarding their reservation. They had already contacted Airbnb Support because they weren’t receiving the outcome they wanted.
They were politely told exactly what every guest is told:
Please continue working through the reservation platform.
The reservation, identity verification, payment, and access process all happen digitally.
The conversation ended.
Or at least, it should have.
Instead, those individuals crossed the street, entered neighboring private property, walked into a backyard, and repeatedly banged on a door attempting to continue the conversation in person.
That is not acceptable.
At StayWithJay Affordable Boutique Stays, we do not operate a hotel lobby.
We do not have a front desk.
We do not have employees waiting to manually verify identities, review reservations, override booking platforms, or make exceptions outside our digital systems.
There is a reason for that.
When someone books online, we need to know:
- Are you the actual person who made the reservation?
- Has the reservation been paid?
- Have you completed the required verification?
- Have you acknowledged the house rules?
- Has every required security check been completed?
Until those steps are complete, we cannot simply hand someone access because they happen to find one of our team members working nearby.
Doing so would defeat the very security procedures designed to protect everyone involved.
Digital Reservations Require Digital Support
Our maintenance personnel are not reservation agents.
Our cleaners are not customer support.
Our contractors are not Airbnb representatives.
Our neighbors certainly are not part of your reservation.
If your booking requires assistance, the correct place to resolve it is through:
- Airbnb
- Booking.com
- Hospitable Guest Portal
- The official communication channels associated with your reservation
Those systems create documentation, verify identities, and protect both guests and hosts.
An in-person conversation cannot replace those safeguards.
Respect Our Neighbors
Perhaps the most important point.
Our properties exist inside real neighborhoods where real families live.
Walking onto neighboring private property because you’re frustrated with a reservation is never acceptable.
Trespassing is not customer service.
Our neighbors deserve peace and privacy.
We Will Not Circumvent Security
It may seem faster to “just talk to someone.”
Sometimes it may even seem easier.
But security exists precisely for the moments when someone wants to bypass it.
No completed verification.
No confirmed identity.
No access.
No exceptions.
Please Help Us Keep Everyone Safe
When you reserve with StayWithJay, you’re choosing a professionally managed, digitally operated property.
That means:
- Complete your virtual check-in.
- Follow the instructions sent through your reservation.
- Communicate through your booking platform or guest portal.
- Never approach neighboring homes regarding your reservation.
- Respect our staff when they direct you back to the proper support channels.
We’re always happy to help.
We’re simply going to help through the secure system designed for exactly that purpose.
Because we don’t have a lobby.
And that’s one of the reasons our guests—and our neighborhoods—are safer.
