Confirmation: Lost Item Payment Received
This update explains what happens after a guest pays the lost item recovery and handling fee.
The lost and found recovery fee is part of the StayWithJay recovery process. It covers the time required to confirm the item, coordinate access, prepare retrieval instructions, and manage the pickup process.
After payment is completed, the guest may receive a payment confirmation email from the payment processor. As of the time of this writing, that processor is Stripe.
That payment receipt is not the same as the lost item pickup confirmation.
Once the recovery request is reviewed and approved, the guest will receive a separate confirmation email from StayWithJay. That email will include the pickup location, access instructions, and the access code needed to retrieve the lost item.
Guests should not attempt to retrieve the item until they receive the separate StayWithJay confirmation email.
Access is limited strictly to the approved pickup window and retrieval process. No drop-ins, early arrivals, late arrivals, unscheduled access, or “quick pickups” outside the system are permitted.
If StayWithJay determines that the person submitting the recovery request is not the rightful owner of the item, the pickup will not be approved. A refund may be requested in writing by emailing info@staywithjay.com.

Your payment for the lost item recovery and handling fee has been received.
Your request will now be reviewed based on the details you submitted. Once approved, you will receive a separate confirmation email from StayWithJay with the pickup location, access instructions, and access code needed to retrieve your lost item.
Please note that any payment confirmation email from the payment processor is only a payment receipt. It is not your pickup approval or access confirmation.
Access is limited strictly to the scheduled pickup window and retrieval process. No early arrivals, late arrivals, drop-ins, or unscheduled access are permitted.
If we determine that you are not the rightful owner of the item, the pickup will not be approved. A refund may be requested in writing by emailing info@staywithjay.com.
