Today started with an email from Airbnb — full of legalese, policy language, and requests for more documentation.
That’s when it hit us:
Talking about the issue wasn’t going to be enough.
Complaining about it definitely wasn’t.
We needed to ask:
👉 What’s the next obvious step toward what we really want?
And what we want is accountability.
So the next obvious step was simple: Call the police.
At 10:17 AM, we dialed Cleveland’s non-emergency line, and Dispatcher Williams picked up.
As of 11:40 AM, while writing this post — well, let’s just say you’ll want to read on to see what happened next.
And after that? Feel free to chime in below:
📍What’s the next obvious step YOU think hosts should take when this happens?
We’re not here to play victim.
We’re here to move — intentionally and unapologetically — toward safety, justice, and community standards that actually mean something.

🚨 Rule Buster Follow-Up: We Will Not Be Intimidated
Thank you to everyone who commented, shared, and reached out after our last post.
We want to be clear:
âś… The police report has been filed.
âś… The evidence has been submitted.
âś… We are pursuing charges.
🙏 A special thank-you to the Cleveland Division of Police — especially the 1st District team — for making a house call, treating this incident with the seriousness it deserved, and helping us take the first step toward justice.
We are now in touch with the City Prosecutor’s Office to move this forward and ensure the people who threatened us — and admitted on camera they weren’t even the registered guest — are held accountable.
This is not just about us.
This is about protecting every guest, every neighbor, and every host out there doing things the right way.
We are a community built on hospitality — not hostility.
And we are not going to be victims of menacing behavior, intimidation, or fraudulent bookings.
This isn’t personal.
It’s policy.
And we’re not backing down.
